Opening up the field of possibilities with an inspiring day

This Friday 26th April, around twenty young people from the Les Rosiers district in Sarcelles had the privilege of spending a whole day alongside Emmanuel Le Roch, a professional skipper supported by the Edenred group, the world leader in payment solutions for the working world.

Sailing and the middle of the sea were in the spotlight with discussions about the job of skipper, life at sea but also exchanges on the next race in which Emmanuel le Roch will take part: the Transat Jacques Vabre.

Still in the company of the skipper, the apprentice crew members aged 11 to 14 took part in an introduction to sailing at the Cergy nautical base. " I have already been on a boat during a trip organised by the school, but today is special because we are with a champion, it's going to be great! "says a young participant who is enthusiastic about the idea of sailing.

This meeting is part of the logic of helping young people followed all year round by the association Sport dans la Ville. A way to make them discover new worlds, often far from the daily life of these children, to allow them to develop their curiosity and to see the future in a big way!

" I am delighted to be able to share my passion with all these young people and perhaps to inspire new vocations! "says Emmanuel le Roch.

This unforgettable moment is just the first in a series of encounters between the youngsters and the skipper. The next appointment is in La Trinité-sur-Mer with the discovery of the yacht that will take part in the Transat Jacques Vabre.
