A sporting and learning summer

Normally, about 1 in 3 children do not go on holiday. This summer, this is likely to concern an even greater proportion, especially in the underserved neighborhoods where Sport dans la Ville operates. As a key player in these neighborhoods, Sport dans la Ville adapts its programs and offers sports and cultural activities throughout the month of July for young people aged 6 to 20.

The summer period is an opportunity to offer children useful and playful times, combining sports activities and academic support.
With its 46 sports centers in 25 towns in the Ile-de-France, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Hauts-de-France and South regions, the Association is in contact with many schools to offer cultural or sports activities in the afternoon after the academic support organised at school.

An ongoing accompaniment to employment

Access to employment and the fight against dropping out are also among the major issues of the summer in order to combat the economic and social crisis, which is particularly weakening the Community Policy of the State neighborhood. Sport dans la Ville is therefore continuing to support the 1,600 young people enrolled in the " Job dans la Ville " professional integration programme, with in particular access to two types of offers: "summer job or first work experience".

"It is quite naturally that Sport dans la Ville is adapting its programs and is mobilising this summer to enable all young people in underserved neighbouhoods to have access to sports and cultural activities in conjunction with local players. Our young people in all their diversity must be able to benefit from this national charity and from reinforced support in their search for training and employment " says Philippe ODDOU, Managing Director of Sport dans la Ville.
