Inauguration of the Saint-Denis site (93) [video]

Since 2012, Sport dans la Ville has been developing in the Ile-de-France region, with new But-en-Or centres opening every year. The partners, young people and their parents, gathered around the newly renovated site for the inauguration of the new centre in the Franc-Moisin district in Saint-Denis.

The inauguration took place in the heart of the Franc-Moisin district, and the young people were the first to take the field, early in the morning! The families arrived as they went along, as did the partners and the Secretary of State for Urban Policy, Myriam El Khomri. The official ceremony began with a presentation of the organization and the projects for the youth of the city of Saint-Denis.

The Director of Sport dans la Ville of Ile-de-France then introduced the teams, the Head of Integration Yannis, as well as the educators Modibo and Majid in charge of the field. Then, Sylvain Grignon, Director of Decathlon Ile-de-France, recalled what the sports brand and the association stands for: passion for sport and surpassing oneself.

Bally Bagayoko, Deputy Mayor of Saint-Denis in charge of sports and integration, and Viviane Romana, Regional Councillor for Ile-de-France, then both stressed the need to revitalise a district such as the Franc-Moisin district, to help young people in their social and professional integration. Myriam El Khomri, Secretary of State for Urban Policy, finally delivered a message of perseverance and hope for our young people, especially for girls.

The day then continued with ribbon cutting, wine of honour and a soccer tournament for the centre's youth.

A big thank you to everyone present, our partners, volunteers and families, the adventure continues thanks to all of you!
